Professional Conduct Committee
The Professional Conduct Committee is made up of at least five registered nurses or nurse practitioners who are members of RNANT/NU. Members of the public also sit on the committee.
The Board of Directors of RNANT/NU designate one member of the committee to act as Chairperson and one member to act as Deputy Chairperson. This designation is for a three-year period.
The Professional Conduct Committee determines whether the allegations against a nurse are proven true and if so, whether the proof amounts to a finding of misconduct, incompetence, incapacity and/or conduct unbecoming the profession.
Complaints where the allegations are proven true may be resolved through alternate dispute resolution or before a board of inquiry.
