Canadian Nurses Protective Society Nursing Week Webinar: Nursing and Criminal Negligence
In a recent American court decision, a nurse was criminally charged after unintentionally administering the wrong medication to a patient, causing death. The nurse now faces several years in prison. This incident has led to many questions throughout the nursing community, including whether the sentencing is proportionate to the error and what impact this ruling may have on the reporting of medication errors and patient safety. In this webinar, the CNPS will aim to give you an overview of civil and criminal negligence in light of recent Canadian caselaw.
This webinar will take place on May 12th from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. MST. Registration is free for CNPS beneficiaries and nursing students. Be sure to register early, as space is limited! Registration is open now at: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_pqyCYG3TQ-GW2LO2Pa2p7A
