NCLEX-RN

The NCLEX-RN examination is administrated by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) and delivered by Pearson Vue. However, it is CANNN that assesses a candidate’s eligibility to write the examination in the NWT or NU. This means you must apply to both Pearson Vue and CANNN to write the examination. Both applications are due a minimum of 30 days before the date you wish to write the exam.

The following documents must be submitted to the CANNN office by email at info@rnantnu.ca

To register to write the NCLEX-RN you will need to register with Pearson Vue.

Once your registration is processed, Pearson Vue will send you an  acknowledgment email.

Your NCLEX-RN registration will remain open for 365 days with Pearson Vue.

This time period begins when CANNN receives notification from Pearson Vue that you have successfully registered with them.

CANNN will assess your application for examination and will declare you “eligible to write”. This decision is communicated with Pearson Vue. Pearson Vue then will send you an Authorization to Test (ATT) email. You must take the examination within the validity dates indicated on the ATT email. You are required to bring your documentation showing your ATT when you write the examination.

If your application for examination is denied, you will be notified by CANNN via email within 14 days.

  • Administration Fee of $42.00 CAD ($40.00 + GST) to the CANNN.
  • NCLEX-RN Fee of $360.00 CAD (paid directly to NCSBN online using a credit card)

**An additional $50.00 fee is required by NCSBN for any changes to your initial online registration.

Candidates with a professionally diagnosed disability, impairment, condition, or disorder that may prevent them from writing the exam in the usual method or environment may request accommodation arrangements such as:

  • A separate room for writing the exam
  • Extra time
  • Adjustable contrast
  • Font size
  • Assistive personnel (e.g., readers)
  • Sign language interpreters

Accommodation requests must be indicated on the NCLEX-RN Application Form submitted to CANNN.

A letter from a qualified health professional must be submitted directly to CANNN and is kept confidential. If the request for accommodations is approved, only the type of accommodation required will be submitted to Pearson Vue. No other information will be shared with the exam provider. Please contact the Registrar if you have any questions regarding accommodation requests.

You will be notified of your NCLEX-RN results by CANNN. Please do not email or call Pearson Vue for your results.
